Identifying cancer support needs in diverse rural Minnesota communities

Our goal is to identify issues and unmet needs specific to individuals with cancer living in rural Minnesota to guide the development of future support programs.

We are partnering with the Gilda's Club to conduct discussions with rural community members to identify rural-specific barriers and needs to help build programs to support them. Gilda' Club is a cancer support organization committed to the betterment of all individuals impacted by cancer.

Status: We have completed data collection and are currently working on analyzing the data. Gilda’s Club Twin Cities changed their name to Gilda’s Club Minnesota.

Dr. Vogel and Gilda's Club received grant funding from the Masonic Cancer Center to support this research.
