About me
I am a cancer epidemiologist conducting innovative cancer survivorship research.
My research goal is to maximize quality of life and optimize outcomes for cancer survivors. In order to accomplish that goal, I have creatively applied my knowledge, conceptual and analytical skills, and drive toward building an innovative, nationally funded research program.
what we do
Cancer Survivorship Research
As the number of cancer survivors increases, the long-term effects of the disease and treatment have become a substantial public health concern. My team focuses on understanding the short and long-term physical, emotional and social effects of cancer, and on developing interventions to mitigate the effects. We specifically focus on designing, implementing and analyzing studies to test preclinical and clinical cancer research hypotheses.

QUALITY OF LIFE OF CANCER SURVIVORS
Identifying topics that are important to cancer survivors and providing support and resources to improve quality of life.
TIME BURDEN OF CANCER CARE
We are conducting research to quantify the time cancer patients and their caregivers spend receiving cancer care and managing side effects.
SUN PROTECTION BEHAVIORS & HEALTH
We are studying the sun protection behaviors of Minnesotans, including melanoma survivors, and testing an intervention to reduce sun exposure.
rural CANCER survivors
We aim to describe the needs of rural cancer survivors in Minnesota and identify topics important to them in their care and post cancer life.
Funding
Our research team has been funded by numerous grant agencies, and we are thankful for their support.
